Pear (PDO - Protected Designation of Origin)
The Rocha Pear is distinguished by its yellow or light green color, sometimes with a pink spot on the sunny side, and by the characteristic brown spots at the base, which are always present.
The pulp is white, firm and tough, sweet and grainy.
The caliber is small: 50 to 70 mm which corresponds to a weight of 80 to 150 grams.
The harvest time for this variety is in the second half of August and it can be kept in good conditions for about 5 months in a conventional (normal) atmosphere and 7 months in a controlled atmosphere.
